Good Morning Kids
I thought we would talk about something today that is brought up frequently on my Facebook group. So may people are curious about what kinds of appliances are needed in their Motorhomes. Some only want to cook outside and some use their kitchens just like being in a regular house.
Here is a couple of my comments. Hope it will help you in some way. Be sure to check back often for more great tips and recipes. Happy Cooking.
Some of you were asking about baking on a grill. Well I think you can cook almost anything on the grill. Back when I went hunting in camp I only had an Old Smoky to cook on other than the open fire so I cooked everything that way. I cooked a lot of foil package meals on the open fire along with my cast iron skillets for frying. I used the Old Smoky like an oven for baking things like biscuits and even TV dinners. Yes even TV dinners will cook on a grill. You can get very creative when you have to. All I can say is we ate very well.
On the other hand today NOW that I have a MH I use my convection oven almost everyday. I have a toaster, an electric skillet, 3 sizes of crockpots( 1-2qt, 1-5qt and 1-6qt) an electric pressure cooker and my induction burner. I use one or more of these appliances almost on a daily basis. I do love cooking outside when possible but sometimes you don't have that luxury. I cook almost anything in the MH I am just very careful and use a splatter screen if needed. I cook bacon and sausage in my convection oven and DO NOT fry them inside because it does cause strong odor to linger. So if possible I do cook them OUTSIDE with my electric skillet.
